What Is Gendai Reiki? Energy Healing for Deep Rest and Restoration
Some kinds of tired do not go away with sleep.
You rest, but you do not feel restored. You slow down, but your mind keeps running. You have been carrying a lot for a long time, holding it all together, and somewhere along the way your body forgot how to fully let go. You are not unwell exactly. You are depleted. Running on empty, even when nothing is obviously wrong.
This is the state Gendai Reiki is made for. Not fixing or analyzing anything, simply helping your body and nervous system drop into the deep rest they have been missing.
What Reiki is
Reiki is a gentle Japanese energy healing practice. Where some energy work is active and conversational, Reiki is the opposite. It is completely passive. You do not have to talk, explain, or work through anything. You lie down, close your eyes, and receive.
The aim is simple and restorative: to calm the nervous system, ease tension, and let balance and flow return on their own. Most people describe it as the deepest rest they have felt in a long time.
Reiki and Gendai Reiki, what is the difference
Reiki began in Japan in the 1920s with Mikao Usui, who created the original method and founded its first society. Over time two broad streams formed: the traditional Japanese practice, and a Western form that spread around the world and shifted along the way.
Gendai Reiki is the bridge between them. Gendai means modern. It was developed by Hiroshi Doi, a member of that original Usui society in Japan, who brought together the depth and spirituality of traditional Japanese Reiki with the clarity and practicality of the Western approach. At its heart, Gendai Reiki aims to preserve the simplicity and purity of Mikao Usui’s original Reiki — the original method, offered in a modern and accessible way.
What sets it apart is its grounded spirit. Gendai Reiki is taught to be clear and practical rather than mysterious or dogmatic, with no secrecy and no need for mystique. That is exactly the spirit the work is offered in here. Real, calm, and honest, without the woo.
What a session feels like
You stay fully clothed and simply lie down and relax. There is nothing you need to do.
The session is quiet and still. Many people feel warmth, a softening in the body, a slow unwinding of tension they did not realize they were holding. Some drift into a half sleep. Others feel a gentle emotional release, a kind of quiet letting go. However it shows up for you, the work is the same underneath: your system moves out of stress and into rest, where it can restore itself.
You tend to leave calmer, clearer, and noticeably lighter, the way you feel after the rare night of truly deep sleep.
What Gendai Reiki helps with
Reiki is gentle, so it suits almost everyone, especially anyone who is depleted and needs to receive rather than do. People most often come for:
- Stress and burnoutWhen you have been running on empty and cannot switch off.
- Poor sleepAnd a restless, overactive mind.
- Emotional heavinessGrief, or a season that has worn you down.
- Recovery and depletionWhen your body simply needs to be restored.
It works alongside any medical or psychological care you have, never in place of it. It is comfort and restoration, not treatment.
How it differs from Quantum Clearing
People often ask which to choose. The simplest way to think of it: Quantum Clearing is the working session, where we actively find and clear what is keeping you stuck. Gendai Reiki is the receiving session, where you do nothing but rest and be restored.
If you are carrying patterns you want to move, start with Quantum Clearing. If you are simply depleted and need deep rest, start with Reiki. Many people come for one and return for the other.
In person or online
Sessions are held privately at the studio in Salcedo Village, Makati. Reiki can also be offered remotely, so if you are in another city or unable to travel, you can still receive a session from wherever you are.
Common questions
Do I have to do or say anything during Reiki?
No. You simply lie down and receive. It is completely passive, which is part of why it rests you so deeply.
What is the difference between Reiki and Gendai Reiki?
Reiki is the original Japanese energy healing practice founded by Mikao Usui. Gendai Reiki is a modern form of it, developed by a member of Usui’s original Reiki society in Japan, blending traditional Japanese Reiki with the practical clarity of the Western style. In a session you receive the same gentle, restorative Reiki, practiced in a grounded and modern way.
Is Reiki a substitute for medical care?
No. It is a gentle complement to it. Reiki supports rest, calm, and restoration alongside any professional care, never instead of it.
Can Reiki be done online or from a distance?
Yes. Remote sessions are available and many people find them just as calming as being in the room.
How will I feel afterward?
Most people feel calm, light, and well rested. It is a good idea to drink water and take it easy for a little while after.
If you need to rest
If you have been holding everything together and you are simply tired in a way rest has not touched, this is a gentle place to begin. Send a message and we will find a time for you to come and receive.
